Kitchen remodel

So you will have no range hood? Gonna get hot, and how will you get the hot/greasy/moist air vented out?
Over the range microwave has a 400cfm vent/exhaust fan, which will be vented out the roof. No, its not strong enough to suck up the kid or the dogs, but it should be fine.

Better than you.

I have yet to turn mine above 400cfm in use. If I click it up to 1200cfm, I'll have no conditioned air left in the house in short order.

That being said, I hate over the range microwaves.

What you see is the vent for the original range hood. I will be slightly rerouting it to hook up to my new over the range microwave.

Edit: Actually, Im not sure what you are looking at, because I had removed the vent ductwork in the demo pics. the only thing I can guess is that you are seeing the insulation, which has a foil/metallic type covering. The vent ductwork is in the same spot, but I cut it off up in the attic so you cant see it.
Must be the foil backed insulation. Are you keeping the bulkheads?

That must be it. However, I haven't done any real demo since i was college age or younger.

Floor is in, and I have started the drywall patching/repair. I was out of town last Thurs-Sun so nothing got done :( This weekend I plan on sanding the new hardwood in kitchen, as well as original hardwood in dining and living room (last year I did the den, hallway, and all three bedrooms). Late next week, wifey is on fall break and will be taking baby and dogs to her parents, and I will put down the poly. Probably wont get much else done inside over that weekend because I want to give the poly at least a week to cure before continuing work. Should give me time to get a couple loads of trash to the dump, clean up the back patio, clean old appliances and take pics for craigslist, and clean out garage so that I can start building my cabinets.

Floors done. Pics show kitchen (new floor) and living room (original to house), I was standing in the dining room when I took the pic of the living room, floors in dining room (original to house) are the same though.

I prefer a darker stain.
FWIW, this camera really washes out colors. It makes the paint in the kitchen look pastel pink, but it is actually a red color. I love dark in large rooms with tall ceilings, but prefer lighter the smaller you go. I didnt stain it at all, that is only oil based poly, it has a really nice deep golden color. When the sunlight hits it, you can really see all the shades.

Drywall work is done. I do not like drywall work, it blows. Ceiling painted, walls primered, new baseboards and shoe installed in dining/living rooms. Kitchen actually looks like a room now, rather than a decomposed mess.

I can't believe that you are going without a real kitchen for this long.
We have a sink, island, oven, fridge and microwave, so it really isnt that big of a deal. We live here and I have a full-time job and Im getting it done as fast as I can on nights/weekends.
