We went over $10k by about $3k, which was mostly due to appliance choice. Original appliance budget was about $2k, and we ended up spending closer to $4k. We also did not sell our old stuff, just donated it to habitat for humanity. As little as possible. Under $10k is my plan. Its not an e-mansion, so it should be doable.
No, I got sheets of glass cut, I didn't want any grout lines. I am going to put some sort of backing on the glass, and just haven't chosen anything yet. Ive been trying things out. Wrapping paper is so cheap, I tested just black behind the stove, and a white and white pearly striped behind the sink. You considering a glass mosaic for the range and sinks? We're using Dal-Tile P'Zazz on a project in San Jose. $7.85/SF on the stuff... No good way to bullnose the pattern though.
2 sinks?!

Thanks. Cabinets are ridiculously expensive. They turned out pretty good. The door/drawer fronts and drawer boxes are really nice though, I bought them from WalCraft, they did a great job. Next time, though, Im going to have somebody else do them. The cabinets are the reason it took so long.Looks great scooter. Very affordable. I think my cabinets were 11k alone.
Frameless cabinets, and yes, full overlay, well minus a quarter inch. Those are full overlays, right?
My cabinets ran $3k more than they should have because I elected for full insets.
LOL, I didn't know there was an up or down. I just oriented them according to the writing on the back, so that all the words were up.All your recepticals are upside down (I know, safer the way you've got them).![]()
The sinks are composite granite. I love them. We sit at the bar a lot, it is a nice spot to eat breakfast if you want to watch morning news. We use it as a desk and do work there sometimes. If people are over, it is convenient if we need more space to put food or drinks. It gives someone a place to sit while talking to someone who is cooking. It is multi-purpose...nothing specific, just lots of random usefulness.Looks great. I love the two sinks. What are the sinks themselves? I've never seen black sinks (well, I probably have, but I guess I've forgotten).
I'm confused about the bar area where your breakfast table used to be. What do you use that for?
That will look cool. Are you adhering or laminating the backing to the glass? No, I got sheets of glass cut, I didn't want any grout lines. Im not sure. So far, just the sandwich method seems to work pretty well for my testing purposes. It might depend on what material I end up using. Something sturdier might not need anything. There are some really neat wall coverings that are pretty heavy, and I might just use spray adhesive and stick it to my masonite board. For my upper cabinet glass inserts, I just sprayed painted the backs with gloss black krylon, and that came out so smooth that if I go with some sort of paint, I might use that method. That will look cool. Are you adhering or laminating the backing to the glass?

how are you keeping them clean? I put a dark chocolate brown one in and I can't keep the thing looking clean. The sinks are composite granite. I love them.
