Dryer Venting...

I didn't have a breakdown... I called a local place I found- apparently it's a national chain "Dryer Vent Wizard" that specializes only in dryer vent cleaning and installations.

Their rough estimate is $375 and will come Monday morning ready to do the full job. They intend to run the straight pipe though the wall where the flex pipe is with as little sheetrock cutting as necessary.

Guy is here now... this is what he pulled out of the old tube...

Change of plans, going through the wall was going to be harder than they expected. While having turns in the pipe isn't ideal they assure me for the < 10 foot run this is the extra turn isn't going to be a problem.

That's a really shirty transition from flex hose to sheet metal and is going to be a nasty lint trap.

It's going to need regular cleaning for sure... but it was $411 as is... would have been at least another $200 if the gas pipe was moved.

Mine exits through he roof too... stupit-est design ever....

Search home services cleans mine every 2 years for $159.

They "recommend" once a year, but the guy who comes out says once every 2 years is plenty based upon my usage.

Gas line is not the problem, it's the kink at the exit of the dryer and when it transitions to the duct. Plus I really don't like plastic flex hose and wish he'd used metal.

Even with that Joe, it's still 100% better than what you had. Just wish the guy would've finished it off better for what you paid. :beerchug:
