Prime-Rib is fatty....

All "prime-rib" is is a standing rib ROAST. You can get ribeyes (which are this cut of meat), and grill/broil them, but they will never be a "prime-rib" though since prime-rib must be a standing rib-roast, roasted, and then sliced to be prime-rib.

i know the difference

i myself prefer a rib eye to anyother cut of meat, sans a cowboy steak. more fat (marbeling)=more flavor....in any steak for that matter..

:yup:

When I was younger, nearly every time we went to a steak house w/parents I would get the filet mignon (good size for a kid), now I usually stick to steaks with some fat on them, a Porter house is a nice compromise; a little of each. :yup:

Ribeyes are very tasty too :yup:

:coool:

Prime rib is a cut of meat but is more of a method of cooking it. To get it as tender as it should be it's roasted in low heat all day.

And eat around the fat.

Best steak is buffalo. Second is ribeye.
Buffalo has a lot of marbling and has a sweeter taste; sort of like the meat near the bone in beefsteak.
Haven't had a buffalo steak in over 20 years. Not since the SOBs tore down the Longhorn Restaurant on Baltimore Pike in Delaware County PA. and built a failing discotec on the site. That disco deserved to fail. Okay; Schadenfreud.

Buffalo steak is pretty good. Ted Turner has a chain of restaurants in Atlanta called Montanas that serve buffalo steaks. I was impressed by how good they are. I don't think Long Horn serves Buffalo steaks anymore, but I'll check next time I'm there.

Best beef steak for BBQ is by a mile bottom sirloin, tri-tip.

I get the local safeway guy to cut me steaks out of it. Perfectly marbled for BBQ, takes a merinade in a couple of hours and for a real treat I merinade the whole tri-tip, heat the bbq up to about 550 then throw the thing on and it goes up in flames for a few seconds thewn I move it off the flames and cook to medium rare except right in the center that is rare rare.

Buffalo is good too but most is a little bit gamey for me. There is a place out here that has bison steak and it's perfect.
